ZETRFLEET is proud to be recognised as one of the first operators set to join the NewVolt Network, marking an important milestone in the transition toward zero-emission freight in Victoria.
This follows a recent visit by Victorian Minister for Ports and Freight, Melissa Horne, to NewVolt’s Laverton North site, where discussions focused on supporting freight electrification across the state. With construction underway on Australia’s first open-access electric truck charging network, the visit highlighted the momentum behind heavy electric vehicle adoption in real operations.
For ZETRFLEET, this points to progress on one of the sector’s biggest challenges: charging access beyond the depot. Open-access charging is critical to making electric freight workable at scale, particularly for container movements between the Port of Melbourne and key distribution centres.

Being among the first operators expected to join signals an important step forward. It demonstrates that the freight transition is moving from concept to practical delivery, with operators, infrastructure providers, and government aligning around the same goal.
This is about building the conditions that allow zero-emission freight to function in day-to-day operations. For operators, that means charging access that supports real routes, freight tasks, and scheduling demands. For the broader industry, it means progress toward a cleaner, more resilient, and future-ready freight system.
ZETRFLEET looks forward to being part of this next stage. As more electric trucks arrive on site in the months ahead, this milestone represents both recognition and responsibility. It is an opportunity to help demonstrate how zero-emission freight can move from ambition to operation at scale across Victoria.
